"Art is taught because, like science, language and mathematics, the study of art is essential for an educated understanding of the world."

At Arboretum Primary School, we believe that Art is an essential part of a child’s development.  Inherent aesthetic abilities ensures that the learner views the visual world from the perspective of a visually educated individual.  They not only develop their knowledge of Art but also their ability to apply art to the things they see.

In the Art syllabus, the learners study different areas of Art, namely historical, contemporary and cultural arts.  This knowledge is applied through drawing, crafts, models and painting in a variety of mediums.

The school encourages learners to participate in Art competitions like the Mondi Competition and Eisteddfod.  Every year the school presents an art exhibition of the learners work.
